I had the pleasure of photographing Melissa and her husband Sergio for their natural light maternity session. We headed back to the beach next to Windows on the Water where they married, only a few years prior. This sweet couple was a joy to photograph. I love the props that they choose as well as the name they picked for their baby girl! Read below to learn about the significance of each of their props and check out a few from their natural light maternity session.
A note from this sweet mama-to-be about her session..
“My husband and I got married on the beach in Seabright, NJ on August 2, 2015. I remember telling Sergio if I was pregnant during the spring or summer months I wanted to come back to the same beach to do our maternity pictures. I dreamed of this day and even envisioned how I wanted us to look, and all the special details I would bring. When I found out I was pregnant I started counting the months to see when I would be due and sure enough it was for July. This new chapter in our life has been such a blessing since the moment we found out I was pregnant. I still can’t believe we’re going to be parents in less than 8 weeks!! When it came time to look for a photographer for my maternity pictures I knew I wanted someone who would capture photos that tell our story. When I found Jill on Instagram through the maternity hashtag and started looking through some of her photos, I knew I wanted her to be the one to document our story. The day of the session we brought with us a bag full of props we wanted detailed in our pictures. The entire session was so much fun, no matter how windy and chilly it was. All of our props were beach related as we hope our little baby girl will LOVE the beach as much as her mama and dada. The starfishes symbolize our soon to be family of 3, the adorable lamb plays our baby girls heartbeat, I thought it was so special to add our favorite bible verse on a wooden sign…God has been SO good to us. The most sentimental prop was the bottle with sand that had our favorite ultrasound picture. Every single time I look at it I get all choked up because I remember praying for the day I would become a mom and the day is almost here. All I can say is, my heart has never felt so FULL. The pictures Jill captured blew us away, every single one tells a beautiful story. These are the memories and moments I will never stop talking about. My little Ella Marie has made this entire pregnancy the sweetest journey and we cannot wait until she is finally here. This life is such a BLESSING… I am in awe at the love and plans God has for each of us.”
